Sunday at the circus

Your'e looking at Steve with the Cirque du Soleil in the background. Wanda and Miriam gifted us with a trip to the show. It was AMAZING! We were awed by how flexible everyone was and how the show blended fantasy, art and the circus. It was a wonderful time.

Before that, we found ourselves trying once again to visit the Reichstag (no luck-long line and not enough time). But we did visit the Opernplatz which was the site of a huge book burning on May 10, 1933. There is a see-through plaque on the ground where looking in, you can see empty bookshelves that commemerated the 20,000 books burned that day from the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft and the Humboldt University; including works by Heinrich Heine, Thomas Mann, Karl Marx, Erich Maria Remarque and H.G. Wells (see wikipedia).

It was ironic that HP was heavily advertising at the site today.
