Thursday: The underground

Steve, Miriam and I went to Wedding and visited the Berliner Unterwelton- a WWII bunker. Most were destroyed after the war so this was quite a find. Miriam had researched it- we would never have found it as it's not in our tour guides. We ate a Doner and a had a beer for lunch afterwards. Later, Miriam paid for Steve and I to take a bike ride to the DDR museum (the Reichstag- the parliament building-had a long line). However, there was a farmer rally in the square- something about milk.

So it was Steve and I at the DDR museum. We got to see the Soviet East Berlin life. There was a Troiba car (sp?) that was interactive. It had lots to do. Afterwards, we went to the Judischen museum (Jewish Museum). I found the architecture disturbing- which was the whole point. It was a full day and really intersting. We were really glad that we got to see the Unterwelton.
